The Catholic Foundation Celebrates the Legacy of Rose Foltyn
Rose Wilhelmina Foltyn passed away December 2, 2000 in Oklahoma City at the age of 91 years old. She was born June 24, 1909 in Cyclone and moved to Littlefield in 1927. It was on December 27, 1928 she married Joseph Anton Foltyn. As a homemaker and caregiver for her husband and a large number of children, she spent most of her life in Littlefield and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. After her husband passed away January 28, 1994, she moved to Oklahoma City to be near one of her daughters, Dorothy Killian. In her will, Rose left an endowment of $10,000 to
The Catholic Foundation whereby she designated the interest to help with the maintenance and especially summer upkeep of the Sacred Heart Cemetery where her body lies today. It was her wish that this Cemetery be maintained for others whose family and friends are laid to rest for the future. Thus each summer
The Catholic Foundation sends a check to Sacred Heart Church for the upkeep of this particular cemetery. Rose established this life long gift for others to enjoy. Thus today we celebrate the Legacy of Rose Foltyn as well as many others who have given so generously to the Catholic Foundation.
The Legacy Society for the Catholic Foundation allows individuals to leave a permanent gift or legacy for the future of the Diocese of Lubbock. Options include Wills, Annuities, Life Insurance Policies and Endowments whereby the gift can benefit a Ministry at the Diocese, a Parish, School or even a Cemetery as in Rose Foltyn’s gift. All funds are permanently invested with a professional financial company whose decisions are made to provide the best possible return for
The Catholic Foundation. For more information on establishing an endowment and/or including
The Catholic Foundation in your Will, please contact Tricia Vowels, Managing Director, at 806-777-2089 or [email protected].
