"They are worth it"
In December of 2014 The Msgr David Cruz Seminarian Education Endowment Fund was established by the family and friends of Msgr Cruz in honor of his ordination anniversary. This endowment is managed by the Catholic Foundation of the South Plains with the earnings given to seminarian education expenses for the Diocese of Lubbock.
One donor to this endowment fund remarked how Msgr Cruz had been at her father's dying bedside. She was honored to give a donation in honor of Msgr. Cruz. When made aware the earning would benefit future priests of the diocese through seminarian education this woman remarked "They are worth it. The right ones are worth it."
