The Catholic Foundation provides an annual grant of $85,000 to the Diocese of Lubbock so that it may provide support for Diocesan ministries and special help for the 62 parishes in the 25 counties of the South Plains.
The 2022 grant cycle will begin soon. Applications will be sent out on February 15th with completed applications due on April 1, 2022.
The Foundation awarded the following grants to four parishes and four organizations in the Diocese in 2021:
1. Catholic Charities for HVAC repair
2. Christ the King Cathedral School to help pay for staff and student computers
3. Christ the King Diocesan High School to help pay for staff and student computers
4. Mercy Retreat Center for help with utility bills
5. Our Lady Queen of Apostles in New Deal for Chromebooks for students in religious education
6. San Ramon Church in Woodrow for installation of hanging microphones to eliminate hazards in the choir area
7. St. Francis Church in Wolfforth to help purchase a stove vent to meet fire safety inspections
8. St. Michael's Church in Ralls to pave the parking lot
With the distribution of its 2021 grants, the Catholic Foundation has provided over $1 million in operating support to Catholic parishes, schools, organizations and ministries in the Diocese of Lubbock.
